Workshop series and public film screening

Co-facilitated by Purvi Shah, Parul Shah, and Deesha Narichania, this workshop series brought together Asian-American survivors of gender and sexual violence, gender justice advocates, and community members invested in ending violence to move, express, heal, and transform our relationship to violence — and ourselves.

Shruti Parekh made a short film of the workshop series documenting the practices, strategies for an educational tool to be used by others. A public screening was held at the Asian American’s Writers Workship on June 27, 2014 with facilitators and participants to discuss the workshop series.

Movement to Power is an art and activism project organized by the South Asian Women’s Creative Collective to raise awareness of sexual and gender-based violence issues through public art.

Co-organized by Roshani Thakore and Amita Manghnani
